  I joined IBM in 2015 to manage physical, assets and data security valued at over USD 500million in 2015 leading teams across west, east and central Africa during a time of uncertainty and high risk in those areas. Performance and impact made to position security in my assigned regions led to a strategic reassignment to manage country security for 36 countries in the West and East African regions in the height of the global COVID-19 pandemic amidst lockdowns. The pandemic had led to increased levels of insecurity for employees, physical and digital assets in those regions with increased reports of kidnappings, raids, fires, targeted destructions and other business risks. Masterminded and introduced new cost effective protocols including the deployment of a Security alert platform for IBM employees, which proactively alerts of security incidents that may impact employees and/or family and friends. Directly manage a team of 30 people under a unified goal and culture of continuous improvement. Key countries: Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia and Ghana. Contribution Snapshot:Leadership: Responsible for Country wide security of employees, physical and digital assets in those regions. Served as a key member of IBM Engine Room reporting to the corporate headquarters, with dual reporting lines. Security Framework: Implemented a region wide security assessment that led to the launch of a security command center, improvement of surveillance and engagement with communities. Completed in 3 weeks across all locations and recommendations immediately implemented. Technology: Worked with consultants to deploy improved electronic security systems- access controls, CCTVs, Intruder alarms and other surveillance tools that improved business confidence. Introduced and implemented an SMS and Web Security alert platform for IBM employees, which proactively alerts of security incidents that may impact employees and/or family and friends. Show less
