"The structures which are made of single unit cell by repetition are known as periodic structures" • By applying periodic boundary conditions, I simulated the whole structure by studying just a single unit cell. • An eigenvalue problem was developed & solved for single 1-D periodic beam (Euler) using periodic structure theory with the help of Matlab coding. • Solution of eigenvalue problem yield the dispersion curve (filtering behavior) and results were verified numerically using ANSYS, FEM software. • This periodic structure theory was used to design a simplified railway tracks to filter the unwanted vibrations from railway tracks for more smooth train ride. PGET

Department: Advanced Composite Project Management Group. • I worked on few projects right from the procurement of the raw material to the dispatch of the final product. I learned many composite manufacturing techniques like RTM, Filament Winding, Prepreg, Hand/Wet Lay Up and Vacuum Bagging. • I also worked on development of a E-glass fiber with specific sizing for better compatibility with the epoxy resin. I also prepared the technical specification documents for the same.• I was in-charge of setting-up an in-house laboratory to characterize the reinforcement materials i.e. glass and carbon fibers. • The University of Tokyo

      Oct 2016 - Nov 2018
      Postdoctoral Researcher

      • During my postdoctoral research in U-Tokyo, I developed a new electrically conductive adhesive polymer composite. • CFRP/GFRP coated with this polymer coating showed improved lightning strike damage resistance. • I worked extensively on polymer development using various thermoplastics and thermosetting polymer systems. • During the postdoc, I designed and performed many electrical, mechanical and rheological experiments. • I was also responsible for performing material characterization including DSC, TGA, FTIR, UV-Vis and SEM. • The material I developed has shown potential to replace metal-based lightning strike protection system with an all-polymeric system. All in all, I earned adequate skills to design, manufacture and analyze a composite structure thoroughly. Show less
