May 2014 - Oct 2015I began working for C W Sellors in April 2014, and since then I have progressed quickly through the company. I began as a part-time sales assistant, covering a maternity leave. My role was quickly made into a full time position as I gained understanding and experience within the company. After 4 months I was promoted to 'Website Co-ordinator',as well as another promotion when I was asked to manage the boutique in which I was located.Managing the boutique came with many responsibilities, such as studying figures and meeting targets, creating rotas, holding management meetings, ensuring that the shop ran smoothly on a day to day basis, managing staff members as well as the stock that the shop provided, where I met representatives of different companies and negotiate what we would like to sell in store.As well as the organisation and running of the store, I was also responsible for all of our visual merchandising. My past experience in Art and Design and Photography have created an artistic flare which I endeavoured to portray when exhibiting our products in store. I always ensured that our displays correlate to any local events specific to the area, such as our annual Goth Weekends, or Whitby Pirate Weekends. Seasons and celebrations were also considered whilst creating eye-catching displays, all of which I researched and planned in advance to maintain a high standard whilst drawing interest to our boutique, thus achieving highest possible sales.Because I also ran the W Hamond Website as well as the boutique, time management was something that I was expected to excel in. I needed to focus as much on the website as well as shop floor, making sure that both aspects of my job ran as smoothly as each other. This also included training other members of staff within both the running of the website, and the boutique. Show less Within this role, I was expected to run the website smoothly in a variety of aspects. My duties included maintaining a high standard of product upload, photographing products, editing images, writing descriptions and meta-descriptions, baring google analytics and SEO in mind whilst I wrote. I also had to make sure that events, discounts and any other promotions that take place in the boutiques were updated and current on the website, blogs and all aspects of social media that the company used.Along with the website maintenance, I was also responsible all of the online orders that were placed for any of our products, this means I had to locate the products within the company, and dispatch them, neatly presented to the customers. Within dispatch I was responsible for authorising payments and ensuring that nothing was suspicious or fraudulent before posting our jewellery out efficiently to our valued customers.As well as running the W Hamond Website, I was also responsible for updating the social media pages, such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+ along with posting on the W Hamond blog. All of these aspects helped towards our SEO, something which I am experienced in dealing with. Each aspect of social media was updated daily, as it is important to keep a good relationship with our customers who use these sites to keep up to date with the company.In relation so the Social Media aspect of the job, I also created weekly Newsletters for W Hamond, which were edited and sent out to over 5,000 customers each week.
