  Worked in many capacities on both the TV and radio side. On the TV side I started in production doing prompter, floor directing, and technical directing. I eventually worked my way into the newsroom, where I worked as an anchor, one-man band reporter, producer, and weather anchor. As a one-man-band reporter I shot and edited all of my own stories. In radio, I started as a board operator, and eventually became co-host of "Afternoon Edition", a daily news magazine show. I also wrote, produced, and fronted radio news reports. Finally, I also worked as a Disc Jockey for "Nightshift", an alternative-rock themed music program. Show less

  As Special Projects Producer I help develop a wide variety of promotable stories for our 10 p.m. newscast--ranging from investigative, to consumer, to health, to feature stories. It is my job to help brainstorm story ideas, and think about ways to market the story. Once we have an idea, I make calls to find people to interview on the subject, and then work with a photojournalist and video editor to write and develop the story. I also fill-in as a Line Producer on various shows, and I took the iniative several years ago to help co-coordinate the Internship Program here at the station. Show less

  I freelance in a number of different mediums--As a Producer for NATCOM Global, Blogger for the Colorado Business Blog, Radio Broadcaster for 620 WTMJ, PR/Marketing/Social Media for a couple local theaters, I also do a little freelance Voiceover work, and I was a freelance writer for ThirdCoast Digest, formerly known as Vital Source. My pen name was "Hope Stolarski". ThirdCoast is a Milwaukee-based web magazine that takes a unique approach to the coverage of Arts and Culture in the area. I primarily wrote about the Performing and Visual Arts, but am interested in writing about other Human Interest topics as well. I am definitely interested in increasing my freelance work in the PR/Marketing and voiceover fields as well! Show less

The company also provided a summer theater program for area youth. We were also one of the only local theatre companies to give a portion of our box office receipts to a charity that matched the meaning of our show. I was involved with Soulstice in several ways, both onstage as an actor, and offstage, primarily as a PR Associate. I worked to promote our shows to the local media.   Natcom is a multi-platform global network and studio with an expertise in developing and monetizing content with creator partners, producing original programming and custom branded content, as well as managing talent and creating multi-platform distribution strategies. As a Freelance Producer I am given a topic, and I work from the ground up to develop a compelling, broadcast-quality story. The process is very detailed... from creating thoughtful questions and b-roll requests for shoots with experts across the country, to logging tape, to writing the package with detailed edit instructions--in addition to writing an anchor lead and tag. My Executive Producer then reviews the story, and we work together to revise it, until we have a final voiced and edited version. The final script also includes contact and source information. It's a very fulfilling process when we have a final product to distribute to TV stations across the United States! Show less
