Focussing on the front end of the innovation pipeline, I worked to engage clients and colleagues throughout the ideation process, from idea generation to value proposition creation and qualification for new pilot co-creation projects to be started in the innovation lab.• Populating and managing the front end of the innovation pipeline – partnering with clients and colleagues to identify and clearly define client challenges as the industry is transforming through digitalisation, engaging diverse and focussed teams of colleagues in the ideation process, and converting high potential ideas into value propositions, business cases and pilot projects to be developed and tested by the M&O innovation lab.• Designing and running client innovation sessions globally to showcase LR innovation, to obtain insight into industry and client challenges, and capture new opportunities for innovation.• Internal training, coaching and other engagement with the sales community and operational teams to help grow a culture of innovation within LR.• Contribution to strategy development and validation through applying a strategy framework and testing assumptions and ideas with the market.• Participating in innovation networks, sharing best innovation practices across industries, and taking lessons learned into account in review of LR’s innovation processes for continuous improvement. Show less The focus of the majority of my work was on developing LR's additive manufacturing (AM) expertise and value propositions.• Project lead for the first certified oil and gas component produced through AM, including the development of internal documentation and process for AM, upskilling of stakeholders and ownership of commercial and technical delivery aspects.• Co-development and delivery of AM certification services and training workshops for both internal and external clients• Technical input and project management activities for the LR and TWI Joint Industry Project for the certification of metallic parts made by additive manufacturing, with sponsors Rolls-Royce and Engie Laborelec• Furthering industry knowledge of AM and showcasing LR as an innovation thought leader globally through the preparation and delivery of presentations at events and international conferences, and writing of articles published in mainstream journals and technical magazines• Contribution to the LR and TWI Guidance Notes for the Certification of Metallic Parts made by Additive Manufacturing• Input to strategy and marketing materials for LR's AM servicesAlongside the additive manufacturing work, I was responsible for a share of the LR inspection surveying work in the Midlands. This is primarily the witnessing of non-destructive testing, mechanical testing and pressure testing to international standards and client specifications. Show less Having joined the LR Energy Graduate Scheme in September 2014 I spent a year on training placements working in the following roles:• Trainee Design Appraisal Surveyor (Sheffield, UK) o Supervised design appraisal of equipment falling into categories III - IV in the pressure equipment directive (PED), against internationally recognised standards, most commonly PD5500, ASME VIII Div. 1 and BS 2790. o Use of MS Excel, MathCAD, Ansys, Finglow and PV Elite to perform design appraisal• Trainee Surveyor (Various, UK) o Supervised survey and inspection of materials, testing and equipment for industry to various standards and specifications• Trainee Project Manager (Aberdeen, UK) o Role as project manager under supervision for a number of offshore projects with major oil and gas companies o Experience covers project management from start-up, initiation, execution and through to the project close.Alongside these work placements I have attended various technical training courses.• Project Management Framework• Marine surveyor training o A course tailored to the LR graduate scheme at Warsash Maritime Academy o The modules included hands on modules for welding and machining, marine engineering, offshore safety training and electrical safety training.• Compliance modules (Offshore Safety Case Regulations)• MIST, BOSIET and HUET o At Maersk training centre, Aberdeenshire• Soft skills training o Course by Primeast o Topics covered include presentation skills, teamwork and leadership skills• Health and safety training Show less
