  During my master thesis, I worked on the characterization of crystalline plasticity mechanisms in dioxide uranium UO2 using nanoindentation and micromechanical modeling. The main achievements were:- Developed a micromechanical model using Matlab to predict local plasticity initiation in UO2- Determined Schmid indentation factors using in-situ nano-indentation and crystalline plasticity theory- Established a novel method to quantify dislocations of the indented sample by Electron Channeling Contrast Imaging (ECCI)- Developed a FE model using Abaqus to determine the spatial location of the equivalent Von-Mises stresses and its maximum shear stress Show less

  As a part of the project led by Saint Gobain research center and four French universities, a new damage-resistant bio-inspired ceramic was developed. In my PhD, I developed a new numerical model - based on the discrete element method- to study the reinforcement mechanisms during crack propagation and the microstructure effects involved in the mechanical behavior of the Nacre-Like Alumina (NLA). The model enabled us to establish relations between the microstructure of the material - resulting from its synthesis and its thermo-mechanical treatment - and the mechanical behavior (stiffness, strength, and toughness). Here are some of the main achievements:- Developed an original numerical model to help design strong and damage-resistance ceramic-based materials.- Implemented constitutive laws to understand microstructure effects on failure mechanisms.- Identified the key structural parameters to optimize both strength and toughness of NLA.- Processed 1.8M-row datasets across hundreds of tables using Python (Matplotlib, Pandas, SciPy, Numpy).- Developed a damage modeling method from microscopy images, to predict real-time fracture in NLA.- Developed protocol to characterize tablet alignment in NLA microstructure using ionic polished EBSD imaging.- Optimized the samples microstructure to increase fracture toughness up to 50\%.- Presented significant research outcomes at five international conferences.- Coordinated collaborative meetings, to align clear communication and project goals.
