  By working mostly on busy bars within functions such as weddings and parties as well as occasionally helping other departments serving food, I often found myself working in a high pressure environment. Ensuring guests at weddings and other important functions are served swiftly and professionally can be at times a challenge, but one I enjoyed and would argued that I coped well with. Remaining calm and maintaining high standards of presentation and quality whilst working efficiently and quickly is something that I have become accustomed whilst being able to maintain such high standards and demands. Working in such a busy environment has brought me into contact with the public and this has led to me developing my social skills in order to be as approachable, polite and helpful as I can be. As a more senior member of the bar staff, I was often left to oversee the running of bars by myself, or to lead a team of newer staff members as they settle into their new roles and overseeing their performance and giving feedback to senior management. I was able to draw upon experiences in sporting environments and occasions on University field trips in which working in a team or group was crucial. Show less

  In this role I was responsible for arranging and overseeing a range of outdoor and indoor activities for young people aged between 6 and 16. • Creativity was crucial for this role ensuring all safety measures were met, while maintaining a level of fun to keep the participants engaged. • Communication, always important to explain and get your measure across in an appropriate manner.• Patience was imperative to ensure children were able to try to complete tasks and unfamiliar sports on their own before stepping in to help. • Responsibility. In roles like this you are solely responsible for the wellbeing of the children under your supervision, and it is important to remember this at all times. • Organising and time keeping were vital to ensure everything ran smoothly and ultimately makes any job much easier.   Responsibilities included organising and hosting a range of outdoor and indoor activities for young people. Activities included trips to the beach, high ropes courses as well as a range of sports such as football, cricket and rounders. Creativity was vital to this role in order to engage and maintain the interest of the children across a whole day of activities.

Responsibilities included serving a range of drinks and food to members of the public.
