Lab Assistant duties include: specimen receipt, slide/block retrieval and filing, accessioning, changing of histology processors/stainers. Histology assistance duties include: Microtomy, Embedding, Cryotomy, Some IHC equipment familiarity, Embedding and Microtomy of Vet specimen.

  Full scale 24 hour histology lab of which I have worked in all areas, QC, special stains, IHC, microtomy and embedding. As a Co-Lead in our unit based teams, I bring forth leadership as well as organization when discussing methods to allow for lab efficiency, cost effectiveness and quality improvement. Attention to detail is of utmost importance when I perform the work I do and my flexibility towards new methods, whether it be in the form of protocols or new automated technologies, has been remarked as desireable amongst my managers.
