  Youth Counselor

  Worked throughout the summer of 2022 as both a Youth Counselor and an intern. I worked on a community of seven boys, ages 12-17. This is a boys' placement home for troubled and/or traumatized youth. I worked with my community in doing day-to-day tasks, such as chores, hygiene, and room standards. Additionally, I organized and executed trips daily to keep the boys active (ie swimming, going to the skatepark, basketball, etc). At MPA, I was TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) trained, including both verbal and physical deescalation tactics. Show less
