    • Aspirus

      Jan 2014 - Apr 2014
      Wellness Intern

Interning with Aspirus was a great choice. I was able to experience many different elements of wellness throughout the company. I developed and observe wellness programming for Aspirus employees, Occupational Health and Wellness client companies, and interact with patients in cardiac and pulmonary rehab. In cardiac and pulmonary rehab I assisted in administering pre and post rehab fitness evaluations, administer BP/pulse checks for exercising and resting patients, and observe post-surgical rehab interventions to encourage patients to make healthy lifestyle changes. Occupational Health and Wellness is an entity of Aspirus that provides wellness to client companies. Some of my experiences here were developing a walking challenge, bike challenge, Aggregate reports, observed health coaching, and conduct biometrics at client companies. At Aspirus I sat on the Wellness Team, Wellness Committee, and Safe Worker Awareness Task-force (SWAT). Another important experience was attending meetings with PopSpring Wellness, a vendor that provides a wellness web-portal for Aspirus and its clients. Developed wellness programing for various employee types Delivered wellness programing to a large audience in person and webcast.  Took independent initiative as part of the Aspirus Wellness Team. Gained experience in health coaching, by shadowing an Aspirus health coach and Aspirus Cardiac Rehab Staff.  Established a positive network with Aspirus employees in various departments and sites.  Participated in the Aspirus Wellness Committee and SWAT safety team Developed and delivered Portion Distortion lunch & learn Show less
