  Assisted both international and domestic customers, distributors and sales personnel with technical questions and problems.Provided support for new product introductions, directed evaluation of materials produced by sister plants, investigated competitive products and assisted with product troubleshooting.Oversaw a wide variety of agency approvals for ESAB products. Handled all safety-related inquiries for entire welding consumable product line, prepared Material Safety Data Sheets and safety warning labels.Provided technical service, including answering a wide variety of welding-related questions, troubleshooting, and assisting with training of distributors and sales personnel regarding ESAB product-line. Developed a variety of welding consumables, with primary focus on those for gas metal arc welding of high strength steels. Specific projects included development of improved MIL-140S*1 and MIL-120S-1 filler wires for U.S. Navy applications, development of an improved metal cored electrode for mild steel welding, and the development of a metal cored electrode for welding high-strength steels.

  Project Manager within EWI's Project Management Office/Navy Joining Center Division. Responsible for managing a wide range of research and development projects for both commercial and government entities. Projects managed included the development/optimization of tandem gas metal arc welding for the US Navy; a project for the US Department of Transportation involving hybrid laser arc welding of pipeline steels; a project involving additive manufacturing of high-strength military components; a project designed to support the development of the wind energy supply chain in the State of Ohio; a large-scale program involving fuel cell energy development; as well as a number of small to medium-sized commercial projects. Show less Projects have included several high-strength steel weld optimization programs for the US Navy, an investigation into the effect of electrode drying on the hydrogen-assisted cracking tendencies of pipeline girth welds made using cellulosic-coated electrodes, and a weld chemistry optimization program for high strength pipeline steels. Other projects have included various large- and small-scale failure analyses, including an investigation of galvanized bridge truss failures; weldability testing of nickel-based and other alloys; a high-strength steel welding study; various projects involving pipeline steels, as well as a number of other projects involving welding fumes and welding consumables.
