Beyond my media and advocacy training duties (listed below), I'm also the coordinator of our Partners in Advocacy Leadership (PAL) program, which aims to create rock star advocates for agriculture. I'm also co-coordinator of our Grassroots Outreach (GO) Team, which empowers our members to be active spokespeople and advocates with media interviews, congressional, community and social media outreach. My job is to teach farmers and ranchers how to communicate better about how they grow food and fiber for the world. How do I do that? I'm in charge of media and advocacy training at the nation's largest farm organization. We believe in experiential learning, so we give our members the opportunity to do practice interviews so they can effectively share their message about why they do what they do. Responsible for producing podcasts and videos about issues important to U.S. agriculture and our members. Also in charge of media training.

Fellows meet with fellowship alumni, policy makers and agricultural experts while acquainting themselves with the practices, challenges and solutions of their peers. The program helps to develop agricultural professionals who can contribute a broader perspective in the agricultural debate. Show less
