  Silver is a Y Combinator backed consumer sensor company that is focused on food safety issues in China.Identified that food safety in China is a huge market after conducting 2 months of market research talking to over 200 Chinese consumers and government officials across cities such as Shanghai and Beijing. Bootstrapped to develop a low cost device that detects pesticides in produce with extremely high sensitivity (up to 100 ppb) using Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) technology that was previously only used in academia. Filed 3 patents for my contributions.Reverse-engineered multiple leading industry Raman systems to drive down development time. With SERS, Silver’s sensitivity beats the best consumer molecular sensor by at least a factor of 1000. Screened and recruited a top scientist in the SERS field.
