  Identigene was previously known as a Sorenson Genomics, LLC sister company. Automated DNA extraction and PCR setup with laboratory robotics. Manual DNA extraction on a variety of sample types. Capillary electrophoresis and general sample quality analysis. Troubleshooting robotic software and mechanical problems such as reteaching programs, as well as keeping standard operating procedures (SOPs) up to date, and constantly improving overall lab quality to ensure it is kept to the standards of our multiple accrediting bodies. Trained in a wide variety of STR panels such as paternity testing, Y chromosome ancestry testing, and clinical identity verification. Also trained in mitochondrial sequencing for ancestry testing, and OpenArray testing using SNPs. Manage a team and train new employees on proper lab techniques, robotic instruments, and new panel types so our quality remains high and uniform. Show less

Helped develop the FilmArray®Biothreat-E test that received FDA-EUA authorization in October 2014, and the FilmArray® NGDS BT-E that received FDA-EUA authorization in March 2015 for presumptive detection of Ebola Zaire virus.
