  Vermeg is a global provider of middle and back-office financial systems Quality Assurance Team (About 12 months)Successfully created a weekly press release for distribution to all Vermeg employees containing updates and a summary of recent business intelligence and competition watch.Part of a team responsible for the UML design of an application that would manage all operations in the post credit approval for a Spanish company.Responsible for the testing, writing scripts and configuration of Vermeg's Megara suite. Megara is a global securities processing platform which has enabled the successful automation of middle to back office tasks in a number of major banks. This involved supporting teams that were on site and responsibility for training interns to perform similar duties. During this time, my expertise focussed on applications used by Absa (a Barclays subsidiary in South Africa).Responsible for the design of an application for a life insurance department on behalf of MMA Insurance. This involved travelling to France to meet with the client, collecting requirements and writing specifications. Research and Development Team (About 10 months)As a business consultant in the team responsible for MegaCor, the Corporate Actions module in Vermeg's Megara suite, I performed support, test duties and took responsibility for incremental improvements to both existing versions and new releases. Sales team (About 12 months)Primarily responsible for communication with prospective clients.Responsible for answering requests for proposals and information, and assisting with external benchmarking.   Mongoose Search is a software provider of Enterprise Search solutions (http://www.mongoosesearch.com/).I worked on “HealthView”, a search application developed in C#, providing clinicians and hospital management staff with a single portal to access information compiled from multiple disparate systems. I was responsible for the design, coordination and successful execution of all test phases ranging from test planning to closure activities testing for both front- and back-end systems. This includes:Designing Test Plans.Listing Test cases and Writing Test scripts using Microsoft Test Manager (TFS).Running manual and automatic tests using TFS automation tool.Back-end testing using in-house tools for monitoring.Performance testing with Jmeter.Generating Test reports using Test run summary reporting tool.Bug logging and tracking in TFS, Microsoft Visual Studio and Jira.Regression test and maintenance testing as part of the daily build cycle.I designed a new Mongoose test strategy which combines the existing test strategy with Agile development methodology and defined a new model that would cater for incoming projects.
