  Working in the Mahn Center taught me the duties of an archivist and their role in shaping history. I improved several skills through this internship, including analyzing primary documents, creating and organizing them into appropriate categories, creating finding aids, and efficiently logging information online, often into spreadsheets. My favorite task was examining the Helaine Victoria Press Collection, a postcard collection commemorating women leaders previously overlooked in American history. After thoroughly examining the entire collection and researching the history of the press, I created the first finding aid for this collection, a permanent tool that will be used by anyone who wishes to view and use this collection.
