  The Portage Lake District Library serves over 11,000 residents in an area encompassing Houghton and Portage Township. PLDL also manages the Hancock School Public Library, which serves over 6,700 students and residents of the City of Hancock, Hancock Township, Quincy Township and Franklin Township. The library's mission is to inspire our diverse community to discover, imagine and connect. Maintains the library website and curates library news and events through social networks. Supervises 17 full and part-time staff. Provides support for public and staff computers, communicating with the library cooperative on complicated technological issues. Assists patrons with research and reference help, possessing a vast array of knowledge on library databases and resources. Perform administrative library duties during the interim.
