  My specific role as Security ManagerMy authority is derived from the Accountable Manager on matters concerning security, I report directly to the Director of Security and Emergency Response. As Security Manager, I am required to have a background in Aviation Security or similar experience that must be acceptable to the Irish Aviation Authority.The Security Manager is personally committed to the causes of Security, Safety and Quality. It is my duty to promote the achievement of those goals and objectives laid down in the formal Quality Policy statement signed by the Accountable Manager. This responsibility will be discharged through my personal efforts and the efforts of those persons working under my management and supervision.Requirements of my Role As the Airline Security Manager, I have received approval from the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) as the Appropriate Authority. I have received approval from the (IAA) as and Aviation Security Instructor. I have received training of a quality to achieve as a minimum the following required competencies:• Knowledge of the relevant legal requirements and how they should be met;• Knowledge of internal, National, Community and International quality control;• Ability to motivate others; and Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of security equipment or screening methods used.• Ensuring compliance with National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) and Ministerial directives• Representation on Airport/National Security Committees, • Implementation of aviation security training, IAW the National Civil Aviation Security Training Programme (NCASTP)• Developing security instruction IAW the (NCASTP)• Recording/reporting security occurrence• Security audits, inspections, tests and surveys IAW the NCASP Show less
