  I worked at Amazon pool which is a multi-use outdoor facility with a racing pool, multi-use pool, beginner pool, two slides, 5 meter diving platform, 3 meter springboard, Two 1 meter springboards, and a sandbox. I also worked at Echo Hollow which is an indoor outdoor facility with two pools, a hot tub, and a weight room.As a Head lifeguard I supervised a staff ranging from 1-24 lifeguards during any part of the day. I made sure that all of the scheduled transitions and activities at the pool go smoothly and that the lifeguards are out on time and have what they need to be attentive. As a lifeguard I supervised patrons, enforced pool rules, provided medical assistance, and rescued patrons when needed.As an instructor I taught students ages 3-50 how to swim using the City of Eugene's swimming curriculum.   As the hiking and backpacking manager I was responsible for all of the day hiking and backpacking trips. I also was a trip leader for other outdoor program excursions. These are student led trips ranging from 5-20 participants and 2-6 staff members. The trip activities include rafting, kayaking, and mountain biking. As an RA I helped build community by planning and hosting events for the residents of my floor. I also helped enforce housing policy to ensure students safety and well being. I worked alongside 6 other RAs in my building complex.

  I participated in daily operation of the farm 3 days a week alongside other interns and farm managers. The farm raised chickens for meat and eggs, meat and dairy goats, as well as sheep, ducks, and rabbits for meat. The farm also had an extensive market garden growing an assortment of vegetables, 90 acres of clover hay and an experimental crop of Quinoa. These products were sold in a CSA and at the Springfield Farmers Market.
