    • Sea Collective

      Mar 2023 - now
      Executive Director

As the Executive Director at Sea Collective, I lead a team focused on reimagining ocean stewardship, with an emphasis on small-scale fisheries. We're on a global mission to gather data for socially-focused Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), aiming to bridge the data gap in marine conservation. Our goal is to create the world's largest continuous dataset, linking the marine environment with social systems in tropical fishing communities. Guided by the 30x30 framework, my approach combines scientific rigor with community engagement, emphasizing the interconnected relationship between fishing communities and marine ecosystems. I oversee various innovative projects, from sailboat-based data collection to the development of social-ecological MPAs. My passion for safeguarding oceans and supporting coastal communities positions Sea Collective as a leader in marine conservation. Show less
