  As a member of the North East Mid-Markets team I was involved in creating and sustaining corporate relationships with clients who create yearly turnover of between £25m and £750m. Under the guidance of Relationship Directors and Associate Relationship Managers, I worked with these clients to provide the most suitable banking products and thus support their own sustainable growth and the growth of the North East industry as a whole. Day to day work included detailed evaluation of our clients' monthly management information, mainly using ratio analysis to create reports on their individual strengths and weaknesses, and as such determine the risk of current or potential banking products the commercial bank offered. I have partaken in projects from a diverse range of industries, including; ECG, technology, manufacturing, legal, and energy, thus giving me an important structural grounding on which to build in the coming years. Within the Mid Markets sector I have had an opportunity to work closely with clients of varying sizes, ranging from FTSE listed firms operating globally to regionally focused family enterprises. Alongside gaining the necessary knowledge of corporate banking products and client coverage, I have made a further concerted effort to get involved in projects involving acquisition funding, thus widening my knowledge of due diligence, company valuation and the M&A sector in general. Further to fulfilling my remit as a Trainee Relationship Manager, I have also sought to branch out into the Business Development side of the business, where I have learnt the value of research into prospective clients, and how this information can then be used to offer the best base for creating new relationships with some of the region's most successful and high potential companies.
