At YoungMinds, I have responsibility for ensuring that we implement anti-racist, trauma-informed and young people-centred safeguarding practices. Over the last five years, I have reinvigorated our safeguarding culture, embedding high standards across the charity, whilst responding to the differing levels of risk held in individual teams. I overhauled the safeguarding policy, introduced a set of Safeguarding Standards and developed a new Code of Conduct, all of which are representative of our organisational values and AJEDI principles. As an experienced trainer, I take pride in designing and delivering engaging, meaningful and challenging training, which encourages my colleagues to reflect on and improve their practice.Winner: SACPA Inclusive Safeguarding Award 2023 Show less
