  Hand to the Assistant Manager

  I worked in all roles including table service, bar work, kitchen and room service, which taught me a lot about operating in a pressurised environment and the value of attention to detail. I worked closely with the Assistant Manager and was fortunate enough to witness and participate in a health and safety inspection. The job of a restaurant manager never ceases; no two days are the same. I was pleased that as testament to my hard work and dedication while there, I was asked to work for the company but had to decline. Show less

  The digital marketing manager role at GoRefCo LLP involves various responsibilities. These leverage my existing skills, for example in digital marketing and content copywriting. They also provide opportunities to enhance and develop new skills, such as website design for the company and running and maintaining our social media presence. The job also involves management not only of people but also content for our customers and ourselves. For the correspondent and supplier communications aspect of the role maintaining good relationships is crucial. The types of content we produce (e.g. text and video case studies, white papers, value propositions, etc.) call upon other essential skills. These include client programme management, proofreading and fact checking of our output. Finally, a new exciting part of my role is video pre-production management, which demands creativity in writing storyboards and logistical capabilities in producing call sheets as well as liaising with our customers and their clients to ensure a smoothly run and successful project. Following that phase, I also act as video production assistant at live shoots. Show less

While working at Fat Cats I learned the art of cocktail-making, something I’ve always had an interest in and I can take anywhere around the world. Through working at Fat Cats my ability to work within a team greatly improved. Providing strong customer service was key.   My role is front of house to provide customers with excellent service, ensuring they get the best experience. Following employment at Tartufo and Fat Cats, I'm able to put the skills I learned at both establishments into practice. Working at big events like Ed Sheeran, John Legend, The XX, and the Panthers Games, the standard of customer service expected for such high volumes of people is a challenge. This not only tests my people skills but also my ability to work as part of a team. My role also includes upselling products, which relies on building customer relationships to persuade them to buy higher value goods. Show less
