On top of engaging with the community other tasks I had included: updating Information Orillia's community directory (specifically dentists, doctors, and pharmacies), calling patrons regarding tax returns, creating informational pamphlets, and assisting with filling tax return files.   Waterfront Community Relations and Bylaw Enforcement

  Ensured a strong connection with the residents of Orillia and tourists travelling to the waterfront in a friendly and professional manner. Preformed duties include: providing tourism information, communicating with people of all ages and backgrounds, resident parking permit enforcement, boat launch enforcement, traffic control, first aid readiness, taking payments, creating resident parking permits via computer, and dealing with disgruntled individuals.

  During this co-op placement, I gathered a vast amount of information pertaining to fire safety and prevention. Conducted fire safety patrols, noting any irregularities regarding: fire extinguishers, fire alarm systems, potential hazards, and possible means of egress. Additionally, I revitalized and edited the fire prevention and safety documents used in emergency situations and for staff training at the camp. The document includes information regarding: camp emergency procedures, Ontario fire code, emergency management, chemical hazard identification and response, fire protection systems and inspections, fire drill procedures, camp staff duties in emergency situations, and building layouts.   While working at the Child and Youth Services at the Orillia Public Library, I had many duties and responsibilities. While maintaining a friendly and positive attitude with the public and patrons, my role consisted of: assisting readers of all ages in finding books, cleaning and organizing work spaces, placing books back in the correct locations, running information and items to different departments, assisting in daily security checks, and assisting with community building events.

  Head of Ropes and Challenge Courses

  While I'm at Camp Couchiching, my position entails facilitating outdoor high ropes, rock walls, and challenge courses to the Ontario ACCT standards. In addition to maintaining safely around heights, risk management with challenge courses, upkeeping elements, and working at heights. On top of assisting with outdoor educator duties with children ranging from the age range of 5 to 16. Roles and responsibilities for this position entail: - Facilitating and managing rock walls, high ropes courses, and vertical ropes courses.- Supervising and coordinating with certified employee's to work efferent and safely with ropes courses.- Setting and up-keeping rock wall routes. - Reinforcing safety and wellness around vertical rope courses. - Conducting course and equipment inspections.- Facilitating and managing 5 to 20 children at a time. - Readily available to conduct vertical rescues when necessary. - Following regulations and expectations set out by CUI and Ontario ACCT.   Within my position at CN Towers Edgewalk, as a Guide my primary goal is providing guests with an excellent experience walking on the edge outside the tower 356 meters above the city. Whist ensuring that safety and security is paramount at high altitudes.
