  Smart Card Alliance Latin America - SCALA was a chapter organization of the Smart Card Alliance, a not-for-profit industry association responsable for the development of industry best practices, tecnical documents, case studies, training programs, certifications, interoperable specifications, market trends and conference events in the Americas, associated with smart card technology and secure integrated cirucuit devices. The chapter was created through a Market Development Cooperation Program - MDCP from the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Government.
