Nov 1989 - Oct 1991Offshore Supply Controller ( Northern Sector )Responsibilities are all aspects of the offshore supply function including • Physical control of material, • supply, logistic’s and all associated documentation and administration. • Responsibilities also involve close liaison with supply and marine departments for both onshore and offshore. activities involved deal with the material receipt, transfer and return both by air and sea of materials. • The requisitioning of material by “ sendit “ and material requisitioning; control of moveable items; control and reporting of receptacles and the transhipment of materials. • The O.S.C. also operates the EMA 3000 which is the Shell computerised manifest module• Preparing dangerous goods certificates and monthly accounting statistics for both diesel oil and potable water. • The O.S.C. is also responsible for deck control and is the main liaison between Safe Supporter and Shell as regards to all the vessel movements, associated statistics and ensuring that all Shell material procedures are adhered to. Disciplines covered were civil (material purchased locally), piping, instrumentation, electrical, structural and welding.• With regard to procurement activities I was the main liaison between all our sub contractors which involved Russian, Kazak, Czech, Hungarian and American nationalities.• The day to day control of the material department responsible for receipt,issue and storage of material with emphasis on traceability ( certification ) and accountability ( monitoring of cost )• On conclusion of the project reconciling all materials and storing the surpluses for use on future projects in the C.I.S. I was located on site and at the project offices in Bangladesh.• Responsible for the setting up of site warehouse facilities and the management of all material personnel in their day to day duties i.e. receipt, storage, preservation and issue of all materials. The materials department controlled materials for all disciplines from civil, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and commissioning.• Establishment of systems for operations to assist in the long term running of the plant. • Liaison for logistics between shipping agents, clearing agents and customs for transportation of packages from seaports to site ensuring all documentation was correct prior to shipment ( bills of lading, shipping invoices, packing lists and certificates of origin.).• Raising material requests and purchase orders in my role as local purchasing officer for materials purchased in country. • Focal Point for London and Singapore offices with regard to all purchased items ensuring their timely arrival on site in accordance with project schedules and ensuring full certification . • On completion of the project I was responsible for materials reconciliation and the disposal of surplus project materials.
