      Summer intern in Neuroengineering lab

I was granted from the Undergraduate Research Scholars Program(URSP) to do a research project: 'Comparing EOG and EEG for prosthetic arm control' which consisted in using a portable and affordable EEG device. Electrical signals were acquired from the brain and retina in order to build a classifier for prosthetic arm control. This classifier is a potential tool to allow accurate control of prosthetics for patients with ALS or Locked-in syndrome.

      Jan 2018 - Jul 2018
Research student for Final thesis in Neurorehabilitation lab

My final thesis was titled: 'Analysis of motor unit recruitment through high-density electromyography: experimental procedures and algorithms' A high-density electrode matrix was placed in several muscles and the muscular electrical signals were recorded with a EMG amplifier before and after fatigue was induced to the subject. Several experimental procedures were investigated to find the optimum for Motor unit action potential decomposition results. Moreover, motor unit recruitment in fatigue conditions was analyzed by changes in relevant EMG variables. Show less

    • Comité Español de Automática

      Jul 2018 - Jul 2018
Speaker at 10º Simposium of Bioengineering

CEA along with the University of San Pablo CEU organized the 10º Simposium of Bioengineering, which is a fantastic venue for researchers of this field. This year the topic was Brain Machine interfaces and Rehabilitation and assistive technologies. I was given the opportunity to present the project I did in my junior year in George Mason University: 'Comparing EOG and EEG for prosthetic arm control' (2017) and to publish it in the COGAN scientific magazine.

    • Agile Development Group (ADG)

      Feb 2020 - Aug 2020

Agile Development group is a social enterprise in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I worked in the Prosthetics department as a project manager on the manufacturing of a 3D printed body-powered prosthetic hand and on the innovative design of a myoelectric prosthetic hand. Both projects were focused on covering the needs of amputees in Cambodia while being affordable.

      Oct 2021 - now

Developing 3D models of orthopedic devices based on 3D scans of patients body parts and 3D printing the custom made devices with different technologies and materials. Spentys platform enables medical practitioners to optimize their workflow by eliminating labour intensive processes from a traditional workflow, and helps them to transition into a full digital workflow. Moreover, it increases patient satisfaction by making the orthopedic devices lighter, more durable, breathable and water resistant. Show less
