The project, developed in partnership with Russia's Rosatom, is expected to have a total capacity of 4.8 GW from four VVER-1200 pressurized water reactors. Construction began in 2022, with the first unit expected to be operational by 2026 and all four units by 2030​.This $30 billion project aims to significantly boost Egypt's power generation capacity and contribute to the country's economic development by creating up to 50,000 jobs.
