      Responsibilities include:• Leading a multidisciplinary project team of 3 – 4 engineers and technical personnel on a variety of combustion projects. • Designing fuel gas trains and associated instrumentation for a variety of fired equipment ranging in size from 100 kbtu/hr to >300 MMbtu/hr).• Performing sizing for instrumentation including control valves, regulators, PSVs, pressure and temperature transmitters, flow meters, thermocouples, analyzers etc.• Creating and reviewing mechanical design documentation such as general arrangement drawings, spool drawings, at-burner detail drawings, miscellaneous mechanical bracketry and mechanism fabrication drawings.• Performing FEA and other stress analysis calculations to evaluate designs of piping and structural steel skids. • Understanding and application of various design codes such as CSA B149.1, CSA B149.3, NFPA 85/86/87, API 520, API 560, ASME B31.3.• Participating in HAZOP studies and what-if analysis to forsee and mitigate potential safety concerns.• Using sophisticated process engineering software to model real process applications.• Developing and rolling-out new templates to standardize technical documentation across the organization.• Producing new technical engineering standards such as piping, painting and structural steel specifications.• Implementing Visual Basic scripts within calculations and templates to increase efficiency/deliverable quality.• Generating project technical documentation for customers such as P&IDs, equipment indexs (BOMs), shutdown keys, alarm and trip lists, control narratives, SAMA drawings, state transition diagrams etc.• Review network drawings and control panel drawings as well as other technical deliverables related to panel and control system/safety system design.• Providing mentorship to new Spartan’s on both company culture and technical knowledge.• Leading site FEED studies to evaluate customer needs and determine solutions to existing customer issues.
