Members make a commitment in terms of time and staffing to the council and the council's vision, mission, and operating principles. Engage, organize, and provide support to the project team and external project partners to execute work plan deliverables. Utilize a relational approach with partners and stakeholders and work closely with the Director to implement transformative and culturally responsive mental health and wellness solutions.March 2016-June 2023 As The Healthy Schools Project Coordinator I work closely with the Healthi Kids Program Director to design and implement policy, systems, and environmental change strategies that promote healthful nutrition and increased physical activity in the Rochester City School District (RCSD). I oversee implementation of strategies and tactics in 4 + elementary schools with the Healthi Kids team to identify opportunities for district level improvement. I build strong and positive relationships with all partners and stakeholders and work closely with youth, school building level champions, and parents to advocate for change. Additionally, I am responsible for conducting research to ensure that strategies and tactics are based on evidence and promising practice which communicates information effectively to multiple audiences including decision-makers and parents. My work is currently funded for five years under the New York State Department of Health (DOH) Creating Healthy Schools and Communities program with the primary goal of preventing obesity and Type 2 diabetes.
