  Following the completion of my degree studies in Film and Media Production and Theory, I started a small production company producing promos and fund-raising videos for charities and other organisations in the UK and abroad. ArkLight Media was established to produce high quality, low budget film products for commercial and charitable organisations. My role as partner in the company involved everything from administrational responsibilities and client liaison to most areas of media production.

  This involved researching public policy announcements or legislation, planning conference agendas, inviting speakers from appropriate government departments and public sector organisations and acting as producer on the day of the event, liaising with venues, speakers and delegates. I also continued to produce video material on a freelance basis.

  As Head of Faculty for Media and Computing, responsible for measuring student progress and choosing the appropriate courses to meet their needs, designing bespoke lessons & resources and arranging intervention to increase engagement in learning. Analysing different sets of data across the faculty, I was able to problem solve and feedback to various colleagues and parents on the best way to use assessment data to create meaningful impact with students learning.I realised quickly the importance of engaging with internal and external stakeholders, building positive relationships and supporting them was a key strength of mine. I also served as Staff Governor for two years to represent to views of my colleagues, represent the school to outside agencies and have input into the strategic vision and governance of the school. Under my leadership we I created a business plan to expand the Film and Media facilities from one designated classroom to the current provision of five classrooms including two computer rooms with Adobe Photoshop 2022, a Photography/greenscreen studio and five Adobe Premiere 2022 edit suites. Collaborating with students to produce quality coursework productions in film, television, magazine and music video production. Working closely with Initial Teaching Training providers, mentoring, coaching, monitoring and developing key skills in trainee and Newly Qualified teachers.
