  Karen Anderson is an Executive Secretary who partners with CEOs, executives, and multidisciplinary staff of a nationally recognized engineering and architecture firm with 25 offices to maintain corporate procedures. After spending more than a decade in her role, Karen knows what it takes to collaborate successfully among multidisciplinary teams. She works to clarify goals, establish trust, exercise integrity, provide professional excellence, and encourage innovative solutions to team challenges. Karen holds a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Phoenix. Her dissertation research focused on examining the benefits of entrepreneurial orientation (EO) for improving minority-owned business performance. The results of her study of a national sample of 133 U.S. certified minority business owners provided nascent empirical evidence of EO's benefit for heightened performance in the sample surveyed. Karen's future research goals include designing and implementing more rigorous research designs to produce contingency and configurational models of EO that apply to minority-owned businesses' internal and external environmental realities. In addition to her current professional career and ongoing research interests, Karen is a certified professional coach trained to foster optimal individual performance in personal and professional contexts through individual, group, and team coaching.
