  Infantry- Mortarman

  During my four year enlistment as a mortarman, I had many different leadership roles that included team leader, and section leader. I stepped outside of my role and taught company level courses on land navigation and mortar capabilities. In 2011, I went to an advanced infantry leaders course in which I learned the in depth responsibilities of all members of a mortar section. During my deployment to Afghanistan in 2012, I was both a primary and assistant patrol leader and a team leader. I was my responsibility to ensure that everyone in my team maintained accountability of all of there gear. I was promoted to Non-Commissioned Officer while on deployment and was discharged with honor. Show less
