      To command and lead the Maritime Reserves to generate trained and deployable personnel, manage the £20M budget and develop the business management functions to enable efficient, effective and MI enabled decision making. Also leading on all matters relating to Force Generation, operations, training delivery and policy implementation. Responsible for the Force Development of the Maritime Reserve. This is delivered through leading a Transformation Programme with multiple supporting projects. Also responsible for all matters relating to Maritime Reserves strategy, policy development, corporate communications and recruiting. Working with Department or Health & Social Care to assist with planning the response to Covid-19, and undertake liaison with the MOD for military support Key Leader Engagement in the Iraqi Government with specific responsibility for Border Force capabilities and development of their security operations on the Syrian border. Worked with multi-national agencies including European Union and United Nations to align activity across military, policing and humanitarian sectors. Led team to plan, prepare and successfully choreograph conference of national strategic importance with over 100 delegates including 13 nations’ Chiefs of Defence Seconded to Border Force (Home Office) to lead a team of Programme Management and Operational Planning experts to deliver National EU Exit Contingency Plans. Mentored Border Force Directors in complex planning activity, and oversaw development of briefing and planning tools for the Border Force. Working with HMRC, DEFRA and BEIS, assigned as the Border Force lead for cross-Government operational testing of the plans As part of the Modernising Defence Programme, as a logistics expert, joined multi-disciplinary team of military, Civil Service and “PA Consulting” staff to identify ways of delivering better military capability whilst getting value for money from the Support Network. Synthesised multiple workstreams and proposals into compelling Business Case with multiple stakeholder agreement; recommendations agreed by the Defence Change & Efficiency Board Led a far-reaching strategic review of the Maritime Reserve, a force of 3200 people across multiple disciplines, to reshape their capabilities and HQ structures. The recommendations to modernise and change the Maritime Reserve were accepted in full and are being implemented. Awarded MBE for Programme Managing the RN’s Structural Rebalancing Plan with 7 inter-locking projects to reduce positions ashore to enable filling more jobs at sea
