  Field research and analysis of Osprey breeding ecology in the Highlands. This project was carried out jointly with the University of Glasgow, where I was an Honorary Research Fellow.

  Field Ecologist

  I carried out field research on Golden Plover breeding ecology in Sutherland. This included breeding bird survey, nest-finding, assisting with trapping, ringing and fitting radio tags, and radio-tracking, as well as managing records and data. I also assisted with analysis and data presentation for other projects.

  Highland Birchwoods

  Mar 2010 - Sept 2013

  I was responsible for Highland Birchwoods' project work, research interests, and project development. I line managed all staff, and worked closely with partner organisations to develop new proposals. I was one of the Directors of the trading arm, HB Ecology, and was responsible for QA on all its outputs. I also took an active role in the delivery of our commercial work, carrying out ornithological surveys, writing reports and providing support in other areas of ecological survey.I am an experienced project manager, having led and developed projects at a range of scales, including EU funded projects with transnational partnerships.   Senior Ornithologist

  I was a Senior Ornithologist for HB Ecology, an environmental consultancy based in Munlochy, just north of Inverness. HB Ecology is the trading arm of Highland Birchwoods. Working with our highly skilled team of surveyors, I carried out breeding bird surveys, particularly of upland areas and have experience of working with Schedule 1 species. I also assisted with protected mammal surveys. I am an experienced field ornithologist, having built up a varied body of experience at home and abroad, both in a professional capacity and through my own interest outside of work.
