  Engaged in Kuala Lumpur office as Design Engineer for mechanical systems for a hotel of the Mandarin Oriental group. Was responsible for the concept design and the detail design for certain areas, when particular problems arose. Responsibilities included the vetting of technical specifications for equipment used in the hotel for conformance with final design objectives to be used for the installation of the mechanical systems in the hotel. On completion of works for the hotel, continued on the concept and detail design(for a majority of aspects) of a 30 storey tower, for office space, incorporating 7 levels of parking. The air-conditioning system was a variable air volume(VAV) type design and the staircase pressurisation system which was to be operational when the building was in fire mode, used variable pitch axial fans coupled with pressure sensors and variable volume control dampers connected to switches on the stairwell doors. Was also responsible for the development of the overall system control algorithms for temperature control in conditioned areas and the airflow volume coupled with the pressure regulation of the staircase pressurisation system.   Engaged as an independent consultant. Worked on the Pan Pacific Hotel in Sepang, Malaysia for period of 5 months, interpreting measurements taken on the hotel's mechanical ventilation and air-conditioning system and preparing reports on fault diagnosis and prognosis for these systems. Subsequently engaged on a project by project basis. Another project worked on during my tenure with this company, included the ventilation system of the laundry of the Renaissance Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. In addition to this, prepared a report on the rectification of the air-conditioning system of a management office in the same hotel which included complete load estimates and equipment parameter specifications..   Project Engineer (Intern) - Noise

  I was hired on a one year contract, by the Ministry of the Environment-Environmental Approvals Branch, on a program specific to "Internationally Trained Engineers' to gain a year of professional engineering experience necessary in a Canadian jurisdiction to obtain a full license with the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario. My work involved reviewing Acoustic Assessment Reports prepared by Acoustic Consultants for industrial facilities. I had to assess compliance of projects with Noise Pollution Control Guidelines. I had to work in collaboration with the local District Office and Consultants. I had to check design calculations and noise mitigating measures to ensure projects comply with the Environmental Protection Act and related noise guidelines. I prepared engineering Assessment Reports and drafted Environmental Compliance Approvals with enforceable terms and conditions. I gained familiarity with the Ministry's regulations on noise pollution. In the course of my work, I used a customized Microsoft Excel program for noise prediction and obtained some familiarity with CadnaA. On completion of my service with the Ministry of the Environment, I applied for my P. Eng. license and was approved for a full license from PEO in March, 2013. Show less
