      Data Intern

Serving as a data intern with WCA taught me how to research, organize, and present data to advocate for important issues. One major project I worked on in this internship was the WCA Data Dashboard. To launch this dashboard, I assisted with creating prototypes that were cost-effective, easy to navigate, and accessible. With the assistance of the team, I launched the dashboard to ease research and information sharing throughout the organization.

      AmeriCorps Member

City Year AmeriCorps is a program designed to promote public service and enlist volunteers to meet needs in the community. As a volunteer, I performed more than 1,700 hours of public service with Boston Public Schools, serving as a mentor and agent of change. More specifically, I worked directly with 12 at-risk students to improve their grades and attendance. I also helped to coordinate community-based events and managed the before-school program in accordance with AmeriCorps values.

      Jul 2015 - Jun 2020

In my role, I oversaw all youth hockey programming. On a typical day, I approved team schedules and budgets, provided useful feedback to team coaches, and performed a wide range of administrative and supervisory duties. I also executed specific financial directives, all of which have resulted in substantial revenue for the organization. For example, I positioned our department for success in generating more than $1.3M to fund our competitive travel team. I also helped to generate over $778K to support in-house hockey programs. To be successful in this role, I was required to balance financial objectives with team needs and community outreach goals, all while ensuring that program participants reap the full benefits of the program.
