    • Border Development Authority

      Jul 2014 - now

The Pilot Border Trade & Investment Development Project has been designed to support the inter-government initiatives, and help the GoPNG, WSP and surrounding provinces take economic advantage of the strategic location of the province. It is jointly funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) & Government of Papua New Guinea (GoPNG). The Executing Agencies is Border Development Authority. The Project has three components; 1. Infrastructure development, 2; Social Development, 3; Capacity Development. I am proud to be part of project team in the project liaison, implementation and commission stages of the project. In Capacity Building Program, the Sandaun economy is practically supported by the informal business sector operations in all the economic sectors. The community engagement, participation and ownership of business transaction from informal to formal sector was paramount taking into consideration sensitive cultural issues and applying business cultures in the project impact communities. It is a challenging task but has achieved results through a collaborative approach with all stakeholders from Sandaun Provincial Administration, Vanimo District Administration, Commerce Division, and Nationwide Micro Bank (NMB) Bank of South Pacific (BSP) and National Development Bank (NDB) for financial Literacy training and linking the Enterpurenures to financial Institutions for sustainability of the program. I am proud to be part of the technical and Administrative team to deliver the project successfully. Interacting with multicultural workforce and meeting various stakeholders to meeting deadline in a timely manner and long hours of work is a challenge achieved through team work with dedicated support staff I learned. Having these experiences I am capable and confident to coordinate such activities in the years to come. Show less
