March 2008 - March 2011Position: Logistics OfficerDuties/Responsibilities:  Supervise the day to day Materials Administration activities of the Company in consultation with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure timely delivery of shipments. Collect information on all incoming/outgoing shipments in coordination with procurement/Supply Chain team and prepare documentation and other ground work. Maintain tracking of consignments and highlight any areas of concern and play pro-active role in resolving field related problems Cross check all incoming/outgoing shipping documents: - Invoice, packing list, Bill of Laden Air-waybill etc before handling over to agents for clearing or forwarding.  Liaise with government authorities, Ministries of Finance, Commerce, BIVAC, and Customs on issues relative to the movement of shipments on behalf of the Company.  Monitor the distribution of Shipments and related commodities to warehouses and other storage facilities.Attend to ships/Chartered flights operations.  Ensure compliance to ArcelorMittal standard operating procedures (SOP) Logistics and supply Chain methods.  Work closely with Shipping/Airlines/Courier Companies to ensure shipments arrived on schedule and cleared by our clearing agents. Travel to other project sites as required by the Company to handle imported shipments by Air, Sea or Land Perform other duties as assigned.
