  My role was to clinically supervise and then to lead (promotion) the OH team responsible for supporting the provision of an occupational health service to people that deliver essential services county wide. These essential services included Adult Care (older people / people with disabilities); Children Schools and Families; the Environment. My role was to offer clinical leadership to the team and to advise on continued professional development requirements.On promotion I was responsible for the strategic and operational running of the service. I managed two OH Advisors and two Administrators. I also oversaw the OH Physician provision. I held my own clinical caseload throughout. In recognition of my contribution I was asked to attend meetings with prospective new clients (local and borough councils) to share what we'd achieved in terms of service improvement / transformation.   Computacenter is a leading independent provider of IT infrastructure advising customers on IT strategies and technologies that will enhance efficiency, access and security for their business.For most of this time I delivered a stand-alone service expanding the team shortly before leaving for my new post in Devon. My role was to deliver a high quality occupational health service and to advise on legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act; Equality Act; Data Protection Act; Access to Medical Reports Act; GMC consent criteria etc).Managerial aspects of my role included the induction, mentorship and training of the new OH Advisor; sharing of information about OH and the organisation; service audit; setting of quality standards; ensuring confidentiality and consent procedures were in place; setting key performance indicators; regular reviews of the effectiveness of OH interventions; identifying any 'hotspot' areas to suggest localised improvements and interventions.My role also included complex case management providing timely advice to the business which gave consideration to commercial implications as well as the health of the individual. I made recommendations about reasonable workplace adjustments and engaged with external agencies to source / expedite local support to facilitate recovery. I delivered company-wide 'talk to the expert' webinars in line with the national health promotion calendar. I worked in close partnership with HR colleagues and other operational departments. I managed mandatory and best practice health surveillance and was a key member of the Permanent Health Insurance Panel advising the Panel on critical health issues. I worked closely with Charity Partners Mind and we had a reciprocal arrangement whereby the organisation would fund raise and offer support with CV writing / interview training etc (for Mind clients) and Mind would support us with local initiatives.
