  • As part of a large team we operated a mobile support service for women and families in the Calais and Grande-Synthe area of Northern France.• I was responsible for organising activities for the women and making a safe space to build relationships of trust so that we can better support them. I focussed on pyscho-social support and activities that make things that they need (e.g. sunscreen, perfume, scented oils) and developing skills.• I worked as part of a big team, co-ordinating actions with housing partners, hospitals, day centres, and other NGOs in the region to ensure the best response.• I learnt Arabic in order to be able to communicate better with the people there as I believe communication and people skills to be incredibly important, especially in such a difficult context.
