  In this 20 business days of internship, I have done investigations about the machining methods such as; turning, milling, boring, and grinding. Apart from machining, I also investigated the welding techniques frequently used in industry; MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and MAG (Metal Active Gas). Aside from those, I also observed one of the non-traditional machining method called as plasma arc cutting.

  Within 40 business days of internship, my main responsibilities were as follows;- Creating and evaluating Bill of Materials (BoM) lists- Applying D-FMEA (Design Failure Methods and Effect Analysis) method to several automotive lightning sub-components- Desinging automotive products such as reflectors, headlamps, turn lights etc. via NX Unigraphics and SolidWorks.- Preparing technical drawings according to client’s standarts- Presented engineering subjects such as; Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), Conceptual Design, Fastening Methods in Plastics, D-FMEA, Plastic Injection and Materials Selection in Automotive- Practicing automotive quality standard IATF 16949's subtitles such as; APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), SPC (Statistical Process Control), MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis)- Studying UNECE Regulations for automotive lightning systems.   Cooperating with the Renault Group for the projects of;New Renault Clio VI: Vehicle architectural development of interior and instrument panel zones & geometrical architectural development of exterior trims at the development phase.New Dacia&Renault Duster: Vehicle architectural development of all zones at the industrialization phase.New Renault SUV: Geometrical architectural development of interior trims, instrument panel, glazing, side mirror, glasses at the development phase.My main responsibilities in those projects are;- Contributing to the technical convergence of vehicle architecture (integration&packaging) by ensuring the process and the customer performance criterias (ergonomics, safety, thermal comfort, durability, perceived quality, aerodynamics, acoustics, regulation constraints etc.).- Managing the creations of the packaging and converging of the related products in the zone’s in compliance with the vehicle reference and with the assembly and disassembly constraints.- Reporting the realized issues to the JIRA application and employing the ‘Agile Methodology’.- Providing engineering solutions to the realized issues whilst cooperating with the cross-functional teams.- Determining and documenting profile targets such as gap and flush in accordance with perceived quality, time, and cost targets that affects the vehicle geometry.- Ensuring the profile targets are complied within all stakeholders, providing engineering solutions to the occured problems.- Determining geometrical verification methods.- Creating chain of dimensions (stack-up analysis) tables.- Checking and validating of control fixtures of all related products. Main responsibilities are as follows;- Cooperating with cross-functional teams to understand and track the project requirements, objectives and constraints.- Providing regular updates on project progress, milestones and deliverables.- Participating in brainstorming activies such as technical discussions and problem-solving sessions.- Fit and finish control for concerned products over design according to the requirements and reporting any issues occured in the development using JIRA application.- Converging the tehnical issues into optimum level to make sure the expenses are within approved limits.- Designing and evaluating product proposals via CATIA V6, manufacturing the proposals for physical test if needed.- Compiling lessons learned checklist, and incorporating it into the DFMEA.- Evaluating and reviewing engineering technical documents such as product data, drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM).- Using Agile Methodology to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
