      Provided leadership in teaching, research and the delivery of high-quality student learning experiences. Led the articulation of a new pedagogical framework for Unitec’s design and visual arts programmes, implemented and managed academic and leadership committees, managed individual performance of academic staff and direct reports, designed course curricula, oversaw quality assurance procedures and reporting, established departmental managerial structures and defined performance management processes.Key Achievements:• Developed a new one-year Certificate and three-year Degree programme (led the transition from a four-year degree for c.450 efts and c.45 full and part-time staff) • Member of Faculty Academic Board.       Threaded design magazine is an award-winning internationally distributed publication: a knowledge-sharing ecosystem for the creative industries involved in art and design; an exhibition space; an interview dialogue; a discussion and display; and a ‘show and tell’ podium of creative and design practitioners worldwide.Responsibilities include: setting editorial platform and overarching design premise for each issue; selecting and curating national and international collaborators and practitioner profiles; generating the overarching content for each section; leading the art direction, stylisation and design of each issue; and securing and managing the delivery of contractors (approx 25 per issue, i.e., interns, graduates, writers, designers, animators, photographers etc).Achievements:• 20 issues published of award-winning international, biannual publication, distributed to and purchased in 15 countries• 100 national and international practitioner profiles – these high profiles and networks contribute to the research environment within the creative industries• Collaborative editions with Nga Aho – a network of Māori and indigenous design professionals• Multi-award-winning publication issues including: 2017 PURPLE Award DINZ Best Awards, Nga Aho Category, New Zealand, The New Beginnings issue, Ed.20, published by Threaded Media Ltd; 2017 GOLD Pride and Print Awards, New Zealand; and2017 SILVER ‘A’ Design Awards, Ed XX, Italy.• Development and design of a financially sustainable business partnership model with ‘Associates’ – Centurion Print, B&F Papers, Spicers Paper Ltd, Yoobee, School of Design, Unitec, AUT and BJ Ball Show less Threaded Design Studio works closely with organisations looking to activate and engage with local communities to create positive change.       Founded and launched in 2017, FREE PLAN aims to provide a plethora of content/concepts/ contexts supported by methods/ strategies/tactics that build and expand upon visual arts and design approaches to curriculum and practice.
