Nov 1999 - Nov 2019ChairCo-founder of the Network in 1999. Received a Millennium Award in 2002, including financial support and Leadership Development Training with the Kings Fund to deliver workshops and information sessions within the HIV Clinic. Created and piloted the in-house Patient Representative role to provide in-house peer support and signposting to all Bloomsbury Clinic patients. The Network has expanded to support the delivery of further in-house peer-led initiatives such as Newly Diagnosed Course, Hep C co-infection workshops, Women's Lunch Club, along with our usual Forum information events and social events such as the annual Christmas Party and Summer Picnic (in collaboration with a number of partner HIV organisations). The Network became a registered charity in 2018, resulting in my appointment as Chair of the Board of Trustees. I stepped down in 2019 after 20 years of volunteering. Show less

Jan 2003 - Jan 2008Co-ordinatorIn-house coordination of the dedicated HIV exercise referral programme, including training and management of the volunteer team of personal trainers and class instructors. Responsible for the day-to-day running of the Programme, including processing referrals from HIV clinics, new members intake, assessment and programme delivery, including one-to-one personal training and group exercise classes. Co-developed and delivered the national roll-out of the Positive Health Programme to YMCAs across the UK. Delivered in-house HIV Awareness Training to YMCA staff at Central YMCA. Show less

Latterly, in the second 3-year phase of the programme, Project Lead for the whole myHIV online service, reaching over 10,000 national members (more than 10% of the diagnosed population in the UK) and offering support by means of online information, counselling, advice and health support, as well as the ongoing peer support via the community forums. Responsible for Project Managing our Fast Track Cities Initiative Improvement Collaborative Project to integrate Peer Support in 4 London NHS clinics and our clinic-based Empowerment Programme to reduce internalised HIV stigma. Lead for the Changing Perceptions project in partnership with Public Health England and National AIDS Trust to highlight and address the needs and issues of people living with HIV across the UK. Show less Project 100 has trained and developed a national network of 700 peer mentors to provide peer support via HIV clinics and voluntary sector organisations. My role was to lead on coordination of the National Project with a particular focus on working with NHS partners to link peer support into clinical services and strengthen existing links with voluntary sector agencies. Responsible for the delivery of national and London training, in-house supervision for Positively UK volunteer mentors, the development of national network and the creation, delivery and assessment of our OCN-accredited HIV Treatment Literacy qualification.
