      Software Engineering Work Experience

      I undertook a work experience placement which provided me with the opportunity to meet staff and software developers from Kainos. I learnt new ICT skills such as developing an Android app for a mobile phone following the full process from idea generation through to development, testing and launch. I also spent time developing a game using a range of technologies such as Raspberry Pi. This experience enabled further development of my analytical and problem-solving skills.

The role requires effective teamwork, in order to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

I successfully obtained a six-week placement with the university through the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP). My roles included undertaking independent research as well as designing a questionnaire. The purpose of the research was to truthfully represent the experiences of students from the University studying at French universities. The placement required initiative and self-motivation and has considerably enhanced analytical, research and communication skills.

My key responsibilities included designing, and customizing the Moodle platform to meet the organization's training requirements, including integrating external tools and plugins to enhance functionality and user experience. I conducted regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of the Moodle platform to ensure optimal performance and security. Through my role, I was able to contribute to the organization's training and development initiatives, ensuring that external assessors were equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve their goals. Show less I completed a six-week remote marketing design internship with ORCA EPA that led on to a part-time role. I was given full responsibility of a project and followed the marketing process from step one. My roles included creating brand style guidelines, designing a logo and in depth market research whilst running a marketing campaign via LinkedIn. I designed the organization's website using Wix, ensuring that it reflected the organization's values, mission, and brand identity.This experience has considerably enhanced my creativity skills due to the design element of the internship as well as honing my collaboration skills by working with different employees in the company. I am primarily responsible for developing and maintaining microservices for financial applications in C# using ASP.Net Core. I need to ensure that they meet the needs of our clients and the constantly changing financial landscape. I have a comprehensive understanding of modern programming languages, tools, and techniques which enables me to bring new ideas and innovative solutions to the team. I make the most of personal development opportunities, taking on additional training and completing certifications where possible. I take pride in my daily work and my contribution to the team's success, knowing that our efforts have a significant impact on the financial services industry. Show less
