    • Sesame Rockwood Day Camps

      Jan 2006 - Jan 2010
      Senior Counselor

Going from camper to Counselor-In-Training (CIT) to Junior Counselor and finally to Senior Counselor, my childhood and teen years were defined by Sesame Rockwood Day Camps. I learned responsibility, matured greatly, and learned how to work with a wide range of clients (kids) while working at Sesame Rockwood.

    • Ursinus College

      Jan 2011 - May 2012

I implemented and enforced College policy and regulations. I also developed and marketed student programs and was a key middle man between the students and college staff. I assisted with Alumni Office mailings and supported special events, including Homecoming. I also performed data entry into alumni databases. I was awarded a competitively funded summer research fellowship to conduct an economic analysis of human capital outcomes of post-secondary education over time using ordinary least squares (OLS) regressions. I used SPSS for all my data analysis and regression needs. At the end of the fellowship, I completed a research paper and presented findings at the annual summer research symposium. I facilitated a Managerial Economics lab section and responded to questions that the students had and assisted with problem analysis. I also assisted the professor with grading exams and problem sets.

I assisted the Senior Economist at Australia’s leading provider of industry research, analysis and forecasting services. My daily duties included collecting and confirming research data and maintain selected databases. In addition, I conducted research and analysis for projects and presented the findings in format appropriate for internal or external client needs.

    • SAG Corporation

      Jul 2012 - Sept 2016
      Economic Research Assistant

I supported the lead economists and computer programmers in analysis of manpower and personnel related issues for public sector clients. That includes projects where I have used extensive VBA coding in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access to revamp an existing Quota model and created an Enlistment Incentive Review Board Decisions Support Tool model, both for the United States Navy. For the Small Business Administration, I have assembled and analyzed two very large datasets (Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID) and Survey of Business Owners Public Use Microdata Sample (SBO PUMS)) to research the factors that contribute to a self-employed person's decision to hire more workers. From February of 2015 to September of 2016, I had served as an on-site contractor for the US Navy at the Navy Support Facility in Arlington, VA. In this role, I manage the Officer Strategic Analysis Model (OSAM) and assist different officer communities with personnel forecasting as well as perform other ad hoc analysis. Show less

    • Bureau of Labor Statistics

      Oct 2016 - now
      Economist

I help produce the Final Demand projections in the Employment Projections program at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Employment Projections program is responsible for releasing the Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH). The most recent version containing our 2016-2026 projections was released on October 24th, 2017. The above task includes researching investment by businesses in the US by industry, collecting and disseminating data collected from multiple sources, refining and analyzing that data, and running economic models to project future values. In my work, I use a multitude of programming languages regularly, but most heavily rely on Python, SQL, and SAS. Currently, I am in a team that is building the front end and back end of a tool that will assist the Division of Industry and Employment Projection team in completing their projections more efficiently. This tool is being written completely in the Python programming language, using the tkinter package to write the front end code and numpy, pandas, cx_Oracle, scipy, and matplotlib to help write the back end code dealing with the data in the Oracle database.
