Developed the first customer program for the new range of ATE’s used to clinch the acceptance of the first S790VXI ATE to a major customer. Developed instrument driver software for both IEEE and VXI instrumentation. Provided technical pre/post sales support in U.K. and abroad.   Involved with all aspects of running a small business. Responsible for following projects through from concept to final on-site installation. Involved with P.C. based ATE systems, instrument driver software and developing a VXI and IEEE demonstration system running Lab-Windows. During this period I have generally been working at the forefront of technology with contracts mainly for Schlumberger Technologies and Ericsson Telecom (Sweden).My work for Schlumberger has been quite varied. It has involved developing interactive Graphical User Interfaces (GUI’s) using Object Oriented Design (OOD) techniques. Writing the structured ‘C’ code that is called and implemented behind the GUI. Engineering development of baseline software and bug fixing using software change control procedures (SCCF). Alpha testing and Regression testing of new baseline software to ensure correct functionality & compatibility. Writing ‘C’ based application programs across a range of their products, using Functional, In-Circuit, Analogue and Boundary-Scan test philosophies. These programs have typically covered Telecoms (V5, ISDN, SDH and Line Cards), Automotive (Engine Management), High-Speed memory boards (50MHz) and numerous MOD projects. Involved in the development of benchmark programs for new customers and specialised customer training. ATE system specification, integration and commissioning. My work for Ericsson Telecom in Sweden involved on-site training for Ericsson engineers in the use of Functional, In-Circuit and Boundary-Scan programming techniques. Development of special to type interactive VXI and IEEE instrument drivers for use with SDH optical instrumentation. Beta site testing of new system functionality requested by Ericsson. I also project managed a small team of contractors in the development of programs for Ericsson’s new SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) telephone exchange. Show less
