      Try to always use Listen, Learn, and Educate your clients, your team, and yourself. Doing that consistently; your clients, your team, and you will help ensure that both your businesses will and continue grow and thrive together. You have to like what you do. I like being in the middle of a serious technical conversation about how something should be done. I got away from management for about 14 years and jumped back into the tech world and I think it was good for me. I went from managing 1500 or so, started a business managing 1, me, and now we have clients in 5 states and 3 countries. I can also have a serious discussion about company vision, strategies to get there, developing budgets, and work together to get there. I am not a politician and don’t have visions of grandeur. There will be direct, serious, and sometimes contentious discussions and that’s ok. As long as we all understand and agree at the end, we march forward as one. I believe you have to build an environment that, while there will always be tough times, most of the time the folks we work for like what they do, try to have fun at it, and enjoy interactions the most. I guess you need the details of things, currently managing a team that provides MSP Services, we run from the keyboard to the firewall, everything in between, and beyond. Basic networks, mesh networks, multiple servers, VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, Scale Computing Clusters most of which I have personally done while bringing in our team and clients do the work so they learn how it works and are able to answer the questions why it isn’t working, and developing the answer themselves.
