AMS boasts one of the most modern mining fleets in West Africa, Damang mine operates a fleet of over thirty Caterpillar 777C/D and 777F Off-highway Trucks supported by a large fleet of Caterpillar D9R Dozers, 16H/16M Graders, 773F Water Trucks and 992G Loaders. ▪ Assumed responsibility for the day to day running of the AMS mining equipment, the health and safety of the maintenance workforce and liaisons with production managers/supervisors as to the daily production priorities.▪ Ensured that preventative and planned maintenance is carried out on schedule, plus the tracking of incoming parts and record keeping of all defects and repairs. ▪ Assumed additional responsibilities of the Workshop Superintendent and Excavator/Drill supervisors when they were away on leave or off site - involved ensuring that the workshop departments meet weekly/monthly budgets and all issues involving the workshop were dealt in an efficient and timely manner.   Ambatovy mine is Madagascar’s largest mining operation with a modern Caterpillar surface mining fleet. Ambatovy is expected to produce 60,000 tonnes of refined nickel and 5,600 tonnes of refined cobalt every year for the next three decades.▪ Responsible for the creation and implementation of a Planned Component Replacement program for all mobile mining equipment of site, including Caterpillar 6030 and 6020B mass excavators, 777G Off-highway trucks and the full complement of ancillary equipment.▪ With a lead by example style of leadership implemented long lasting improvement to safety, quality of work and efficiency, not only in the PCR workshop but throughout the workshop facilities.▪ Worked closely with the national planning teams to improve efficiencies, quality control, create bill of materials and plan future shutdowns across the entire fleet.
