  Deputy Library Manager

  In my role as Deputy Library Manager I was responsible for cataloguing all new stock and dealing with enquiries on the desk. I also stood in for the manager in her absence. For a short time I was Acting Manager. In this role I made sure the Library ran smoothly, managed the budget to order books and make sure subscriptions and licenses were up-to-date as well as managing staff.

  Deputy Librarian (Reader Services) and Faculty of Arts Liaison Librarian

  My responsibilities included ensuring the smooth running of the Library and ensuring we provided a high level of customer service. I was the lead on our Customer Service Excellence award submission which we gained and were revalidated for twice. I was the line manager to several permanent staff as well as a team of casual staff. I developed a programme of training for Library staff. This involved organising necessary staff training activities as well as other developmental activities throughout the year.I introduced a customer experience strategy into my department and trained staff in customer journey mapping methodology. We used this to regularly map our processes to identify where improvements could be made.I was one of two liaison librarians for PHD research students.As the Faculty of Arts Liaison Librarian I had to ensure that the Library met the needs of the faculty. This involved liaising with tutors, dealing with orders, monitoring stock, inviting feedback from students, offering inductions and other Library tutorials as well as 1:1 sessions. I also delivered information literacy sessions to students. Show less

  Secondary School Librarian

  I manage a secondary school library and support the English department with guided reading sessions. In addition I create digital content for the Learning platform. This involves researching topics and putting together pages of information along with quizzes to support the students and teaching staff.
